P-day in Topeka

Brother and Sister Hoover in Topeka invited our district to their home for P-day. They live right in the middle of Amish country and the day couldn't have been nicer for a little buggy ride! The temperature actually got up to around 60 degrees. Thanks to Sara and Vera Otto for supplying the buggy and Skipper (the horse).

Sisters McClellan, Wight, and Jacobson with Vera

Elders Chambers and Stringham

Elders Clare and Anderson
There was a lot of traffic out on the road today!

Skipper needed a fill-up

Thanks again, Brother and Sister Hoover. We had a great day!!!

Hurray for Kevin!!

Saturday was an exciting day for the Angola Branch. It's been over four years since our branch has had a convert baptism so you can imagine how happy we were for Kevin. Congratulations to him and his family as they continue their progression in the gospel.

Last night the Angola Branch held its Relief Society Birthday Dinner. The theme was "Something Extraordinary". We had a great turnout, great food, and a great program.

Hayley & Emma

Our granddaughters Hayley and Emma were able to fly up from Texas and spend a few days of their spring break with Grandma and Grandpa in chilly Indiana. We sure enjoyed their visit! We visited the Amish in Shipshewana, the Mormons in Angola, the temple in Columbus, and the missionaries here, there, and everywhere. We will forever hold these memories in our hearts as a highlight of our mission. We love you girls!!!!

We miss you already!

Fun Day & Temples & More!

This has been a very busy week for our Fort Wayne Zone. On Monday we joined with the Huntington and Muncie North and South Zones for FUN DAY. I must say that it appeared that a good time was had by all. We got to wear our 'play clothes' (which is very rare for our mission) and play games, eat, and we even got to watch a movie (another very rare occurrence). There was some pretty stiff competition between the zones, but in the end, everyone was a winner!

Yesterday was our Zone's Temple Day. We attended a session at the Columbus Ohio Temple. This time, a spiritual experience was had by all!

And more...District Meeting today. We learned a lot and, of course, couldn't pass up another opportunity to EAT. Haha

I love our District. There are no finer missionaries anywhere.

Zone Conference

I know you'll find this hard to believe, but we woke up to another six inches of snow this morning - just in time to travel to Fort Wayne for Zone Conference. Elder Chambers met each arriving car and shoveled a path in to the church. A true Boy Scout, if I ever saw one!!

We always enjoy learning from our dear President Porter.

And, of course, no one wants to go home hungry so.....yum, yum Pizza Hut.
